When you can’t find it, make it.

I’ve always loved design, and looking at how things are made. When I couldn’t find the type of shirt I would want to wear, I made it. My aesthetic is mainly minimalist and vintage. Our shirts are super-duper soft and they get softer every time I wash mine.

My daytime gig is working as a librarian at a middle school, but my love of making pretty posters, logos and signs have evolved into a business. So, I say, as librarians and teachers, we can look cool and do good work.

And it helps me payoff my student loans–true story.

All of our shirts are direct-to-garment printed in a professional print shop, this means you don’t have to worry about it cracking or peeling like vinyl or heat transfer. Direct-to-garment printing also uses water-based and eco-friendly inks.

About Keen Bee Studio

I started Keen Bee Studio in 2015 as a way to make t-shirts for my librarian friends. And it’s been a whirlwind ever since. Our shop is based on Etsy and we have over 100 designs and 300 positive reviews (something I’m super proud of). We’ve sold shirts and other things around the world, and we love to see our shirts online and in person at conferences.

I’m a former librarian whose love of coding has lead me to work as developer in the Dallas Fort-Worth Area. I currently live in Denton with my awesome family and two “huge” dogs. And I love modern and mid-century design. I also love to create positive designs that help others make the world a better place: true story.
